Winter Fair 2014
30th December 2014
Apologies for the website being unavailable due to a problem with the server over the past week or so.
We took 12 animals to the Royal Ulster Winter Fair on the 11th of December. All 4 breeds were represented - one jersey, one shorthorn, three ayrshires and seven holsteins. Many thanks to John for clipping and to Jess, Matthew, Ellie and Rachel for all their hard work.
The holsteins were well placed and they enabled us to win the Premier Exhibitor Award for the first time.
We got Ayrshire Champion with Marleycote Sea Lily 14 (1st place in the third calver class), 1st place with Atley Hill Yellow Pamela in the dry cow class & Reserve Junior champion with Priestland Prime Pamela.
Marleycote Princess Jill 31 was awarded reserve dairy shorthorn champion. She had calved in November with her third and is improving every day.
Every year you think you can't do any better than the year before. This is the first time we have ever won a premier exhibitor at any show and to have won it at the best show in Ireland makes us very proud.
Thanks to Karen for taking some super photos
